Kitten photoshoot!

I take most of the pictures on this website with my iPhone, which has the uncanny ability to do well in low light conditions. But sometimes the mood is right to use my real camera and that is what I did earlier this week. Here are some of my favourite visual ‘cat-stories’…. You can click the photos to see bigger images. I see something! (Stipke)

Stipke wakes up from a nap and is certain she sees something … the ceiling?

I see something…
I am sure I saw something
Over there!
Or was it here?
Or here?
Oh. It’s gone.

Mirror, mirror, on the wall…. (Sipke)

I love to play with the lanyard on Nicky’s phone
But I always feel as if somebody is watching me
There is another cat in it, I tell ya!
I tried to bite it until my nose crinkles
Because… well, I have teeth and it tastes nice
It looks kind of like me!
What do you mean, I am vain?
I did nothing. Nothing. I am just cute. And naughty. Can you tell? (And by the way: there is another cat in the window as well!)

Maternal strategies

When lying on the ground underneath the cat tree, I suddenly notice that Mitsy is napping with her chin right over the edge. Which means she van oversee things without being noticed immediately by the kittens, who are with me on the ground. The striped bottom part of the photograph shows the back of the little chair that is underneath the cat tree.
Wait until the kittens are asleep and then sneak out for a solo nap (back when the family was still crated at night but allowed free reign of the room during the day)

Mitsy’s twin evasion strategy… (often fails)

Lure the twins into cuddle time
Sneak out after a bit of nursing and cuddling
Ah! Kitten 1 catches on!
Kitten 2 notices that it’s the only one on the window bench
There! All together again!
